Teach for Mexico IAP and New Fortress Energy (NFE) begin an alliance to combat educational inequality in the country, specifically supporting the organization's project in the state of Baja California Sur, in the area of Los Cabos and La Paz. Enseña por México is an organization that for 9 years has been developing leadership inside and outside the classrooms in the educational sector to consolidate a broad, diverse and inclusive movement of leading agents of change who work so that all Mexican girls, boys and young people have access to an education that guarantees them developing their maximum potential, regardless of their origin.
New Fortress Energy (NFE) is an international company that finances, builds and operates Liquefied Natural Gas infrastructure in different countries. In Mexico, NFE is contributing to generating cleaner, more reliable and environmentally friendly energy, while having a positive impact on the community of La Paz, where it has its operations. A year ago, NFE collaborated with Enseña Por México, delivering 72 Chromebook-type computers to the same number of students in three Saudi Arabia Mobile Number List primary schools in La Paz. Today it joins the Adopt A School Program to benefit the students who need it most in the region. Enseña por México has collaborated in the state of Baja California Sur since 2016, joining efforts for the benefit of children and young students from La Paz and Los Cabos through the participation of educators, whom they call Professionals of Enseña por México (PEM), in schools that are in a vulnerable situation.
The PEMs, specially selected to address the context of the region, teach and accompany students developing academic and socio-emotional skills and generating projects in which they involve the entire community. New Fortress Energy joins this cause through the Adopt a School program, which, together with other strategic allies in the region, has been supporting since January of this year so that 27 PEMs in 27 underserved schools can provide direct support to +1,600 students, +100 teachers and +2,400 parents, so that collectively we can achieve a true educational and social transformation. We are confident that our alliance will help improve education in the region in the short, medium and long term.
